the first 30,000 years
day 36
tokyo national museum
what a job - if you had to summarize the country's first 30,000 years of art and artisanry, what would you show?
commonly, i leave museums overwhelmed by content, underwhelmed by documentation. but the national museum surprised me - there was a nice selection from each period arranged chronologically by room, with informative poster boards. i liked that.
so here's my pick. it's in no particular order, with no supporting info. that's all you get for the price of an e-ticket.
once again, a miserably windy and wet day. perfect museum weather.

Hi Andrew,
Clara pointed me in the direction of your blog and I wanted to say - WOW! It looks beautiful! I have just signed onto Blogger and was immediately invited to migrate to Blogger Beta, which is the Google hosted version of Blogger. They had template layouts and I have selected one, but I am keen to customize and learn more about HTML and XML. Your site seems to have features and a layout which are not part of the Beta standard set of templates. Did you develop this yourself? I have found your 'feed' address and have added that to my site so I can see when you post new entries - which is often at the moment! I just wanted to say thanks for making the blog public. You probably didn't intend to target me specifically, but I really enjoy being able to see your pictures and read your comments.
If you have any pointers on Blog hacking, I would love to hear them. Also, do you know if the upload process re-samples the images do a lower res to save space on the Blogger server, or should I resample first before sending. Picasa has a new feature where you can post directly to Web Albums, and a new program from Google, 'Hello' can post directly to your blog site as a batch upload.
ANyway, I hope you are having fun.
Regards
Jacob
